Students from Hamden are leaving their mark at colleges and universities.

 

The following Hamden residents where selected to take part in Quinnipiac University's Student Technology Academic Resources (STAR) program for the 2012-2013 academic year:

STARs are trained to assist Quinnipiac University students and faculty with technological problems. From laptop issues to synching smart phones to the Quinnipiac network, STARs help students be as technologically linked to the campus as possible.

Carissa Laudano '12 of Hamden, CT, has become a member of the Dance Team at Eastern Connecticut State University. Laudano is majoring in Psychology.

The purpose of the Dance Team is to provide school spirit and entertainment to the student body, faculty, and staff at Eastern through numerous dance performances.The Dance Team also competes at various local and out-of-state competitions.

 

Jonathan Mandell '15 of Hamden is a member of Eastern's Pre-Law Society. Mandell is majoring in Political Science.

The Pre-Law Society serves to provide information and resources to students that are interested in the field of law.

 

Erin Paredes of Atlanta, Ga., son of Jose Paredes of Hamden and Leila Victorino of New Haven, was named to the Merit List of Oxford College, the two-year liberal arts division of Emory University located in Oxford, Ga., for the 2011 fall semester.

Students must earn a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the previous semester to be named to the Merit List.

 

Michael Taddei of Hamden was named to the Fall Semester 2011 Deans' List at Merrimack College. To be named to the Deans' List, a student must achieve a 3.25 grade point average or higher, based on a 4.0 grading system.

The only Catholic Augustinian college in New England, Merrimack College is a selective, independent, co-educational institution with 2,000 full-time students from 22 states and 20 countries. 

 

Kyle Bilodeau of Hamden was named to the dean's list for the Fall 2011 semester at Quinnipiac University.

To be eligible for dean's list status, a student must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 with no grade lower than C. Full-time students must complete at least 14 credits in a semester, with at least 12 credits that have been graded on a letter grade basis (A through C) to be eligible. Part-time students must complete at least six credits during a semester.
