LWV of Hamden-North Haven to feature talk by Psychiatrist
The annual meeting of the League of Women Voters of Hamden-North Haven will feature dinner and a talk on “Social Media and Relationships: Impact on Self, Peers, Between Generations, and in the Community” by child and adolescent psychiatrist Yann B. The Wednesday, June 11, event will be at Best Western PLUS (formerly Holiday Inn of North Haven), 201 Washington Avenue, North Haven. Hors d’oevres and Cash Bar start at 5:00 pm.
The developmental course of children and adults is shaped by interactions over time of biological susceptibility, individual psychology, family dynamics, and environment says Dr. Poncin who focuses on individuals and their families with complex psychosocial distress across multiple domains.
Dr. Poncin’s responsibilities at the Yale Child Study Center Outpatient Clinical Services include In-Home Intensive Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Service (IICAPS), Multidimensional Family Therapy (MDFT), and the CSC Outpatient Clinic. He is also the child/adolescent psychiatrist with the Extended Day Treatment (EDT) program at The Children's Center of Hamden. He formerly held Medical Directorships for the Children's Psychiatric Inpatient Service and for the Child Psychiatric Consultation Service in the Pediatric Emergency Department of the Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital.
