“The inspiration for Sundae Spa came from a family vacation,” said founder and owner, Kim Swan. “I love doing things with my children and getting them involved. We booked a spa experience for the kids that promised fun and sweet treats. Sadly, the experience was less than yummy but it left us with a taste to use our own creative ideas and start Sundae Spa.”

Founded in 2010 by mother-of-seven Kim Swan, Sundae Spa utilizes Swan’s background as a former high school teacher, education product developer and Girl Scout leader to combine everything that keeps children both educated and entertained.  Sundae Spa is a place where kids can come to make sweet treats, while learning, looking good and having fun.

Prior to the Grand Opening, Sundae Spa will host children from The Sunshine Kids Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides positive group activities and emotional support for young cancer patients. The Sunshine Kids will arrive at Sundae Spa to a red-carpet entrance via limousine, receiving the full treatment from Swan and her staff of candy-named technicians.

We opened our Eastern Region office in 2010, and since that time we have provided many exciting activities for Kids with cancer including sporting events, shows like Disney On Ice, Barnum & Bailey Circus, Monster Jam, museum excursions, amusement park visits, ski trips, zip lining tours, and many others. Hospitals we work with include Connecticut Children's Medical Center, Yale New Haven Hospital, Dana Farber, Hasbro Children's Hospital, Sloan Kettering, Montefiore Children's Hospital, St. Joseph's Children's Hospital, and many more, from New Hampshire to Washington, D.C..

Through the generosity of companies like Sundae Spa, The Sunshine Kids Foundation will continue to provide stimulating group activities for Kids with cancer, free of charge, so that they can do what Kids are supposed to do: have fun and enjoy life!

About Sundae Spa:

The Inspiration for Sundae Spa came from a family vacation. For something different, I booked a spa experience for the kids that promised fun and sweet treats for your hands and feet. (I love doing things with my children and getting them involved).  On our 3 hour drive we imagined all kinds of wonderful things we would do together at the spa. Sadly the experience was less than yummy but it did leave us with a taste to use our own creative ideas and start Sundae Spa.

And Then... Immediately upon returning I threw myself into research – similar products, other spas for children, complimentary businesses that offered experiential learning – no one was doing what we had envisioned though all the businesses were thriving. Sundae Spa brings the best of them together in "a place where kids can come to make sweet treats while learning, looking good and having fun."  With years of experience as a science teacher and having worked with all kinds of children I was sure our ideas would be a hit.
