UPDATE: Catalina is Going Home

Blind and thrown away, Catalina ended up at the Hartford Animal Shelter, but her story has a happy ending.

UPDATE: Catalina has been adopted! She is going home today (Tuesday, June 18). Thanks to everyone who shared her story.

Original Story:

Catalina is a special needs Pointer/Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) mix who was found trapped behind a wood pile and a chain link fence where she was stuck for two days.

She is now at the Hartford Animal Shelter, where she is terrified and confused.

Catalina is totally blind and need a patient, understanding owner. Prior experience with blind dogs would be ideal.

She is about 12 years old and weighs about 65 pounds. She does well on a leash if you go slow and assist her in finding her way.

This beautiful old girl needs a special person willing to open their heart and home to her. A quiet home with no young kids would be best for her.

She MUST be adopted by Tuesday, June 18 or she will be euthanized.

The Hartford Animal Shelter is located in Bloomfield at 87 West Dudley Town Road. To adopt Catalina, set up an appointment by emailing ctshelterdogs@gmail.com.
