Brooksvale Park Barn Gets Boost from Hamden Rotary

The Hamden Rotary recently presented a donation to the Friends of Brooksvale Park to go towards the new barn that will soon be constructed at the park.

The Friends of Brooksvale Park got a boost recently from the Hamden Rotary in its quest to build a new barn at the park.

The Friends have been raising money for an animal barn at the park to give shelter to the resident animals in inclement weather.

An anonymous donor offered to match up to $45,000 raised to go toward the barn, which will cost about $98,000 to construct. Ground breaking for the barn is scheduled for May 10 at 10 a.m. at the park.

Rotarian Betsy Gorman recently presented a check to Friends of Brooksvale Vice President Gail Traester and Treasurer Jim Traester.

Rotary Club fundraisers enable the group to make contributions to worthy organizations such as this throughout the community.
