Build a Birdhouse for a Good Cause

Sleeping Giant Build/Habitat for Humanity is hosting a Build a Birdhouse fundraiser at Hamden Middle School next month.

Sleeping Giant Build-Habitat for Humanity will host a Birdhouse Build fundraiser Saturday, May 11,  from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hamden Middle School Parking Lot, 2623 Dixwell Ave., Hamden.

The cost is $15 for pre-registration and $20 the day of the event. Proceeds from this fund raising effort will benefit Sleeping Giant Build/Habitat for Humanity and its home building efforts.

Each registered participant gets to build their very own birdhouse. Volunteer instructors from Home Depot will be on hand to assist and provide instruction with assembly. This is a great event for the whole family, and the best part is you get to keep the birdhouse (which makes a great Mothers day gift)!

Special thanks to Home Depot 1873 Dixwell Ave in Hamden for donating the birdhouse building materials, as well as the volunteer instructors.

There will be a special appearance by Boomer the Bobcat from Quinnipiac University and a chance to get your picture taken with Big Bird.

Sleeping Giant Build/Habitat for Humanity is actively seeking donations to help reach fund raising goals of $50,000. You can contribute in the form of donated materials, skilled labor or financial contributions. Financial donations and material donations are tax-deductible.
