Do You Know a Hamden Notable?

The Hamden Arts Commission is looking for nominations for its annual Hamden Notables award. You can nominate yourself or someone else.

The Hamden Arts Commission is pleased to announce that it is accepting nominations for individuals to be recognized as Hamden Notables. This includes those individuals who have contributed to the cultural arts in Hamden or who have lived or worked in Hamden and made a significant contribution to the arts here or elsewhere. 

The cultural arts include architecture, art, dance, film, literature, media, music, theater, photography and related technical services.

An active list of Hamden's Notables can be found at www.hamdenartscommission.org/notables.php The current list recognizes such artists as award winning actor Ernest Borgnine and United States Poet Laureate David Hall.

We would like to honor any and all deserving individuals for their dedication and contributions to the arts. We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be a resident of Hamden or have resided or worked in Hamden
  • Must have made a verifiable contribution to or achievement in the cultural arts, whether in or outside of Hamden that has been significant and widely recognized 

To nominate yourself or someone else for consideration as a Hamden Notable,  visit http://www.hamdenartscommission.org/nomination.php and fill out the short form. With this form, you may also nominate an institution or organization for consideration as part of our Cultural Resource Directory.
