Three Dogs Left at Hartford Shelter

Five of the eight dogs urgent for this week at the Hartford Animal Shelter have been adopted, but three are still in danger of dying if no one steps up.

UPDATE 1/4: Several of the dogs have been adopted, but there's still more in need and there are more coming so check them out and share their info. Thanks!

Anyone interested in adopting or fostering a dog from the City of Hartford Animal Shelter must first fill out an application. Email ctshelterdogs@gmail.com for the application. Sherry the ACO reviews applications prior to setting up appointments to meet the dogs.

Dogs brought to the Hartford Animal Shelter are held for 10 days. On the tenth day the dog either goes to its new home or is euthanized. The legal day of adoption is the day the dog must be adopted or put down.

The Hartford Animal Shelter facilities are located in Bloomfield at 87 West Dudley Town Road, which leads to Rescue Lane. The facility is at the end of the road. It's a short trip from the New Haven area that means the difference between life and death for a dog!
