SCSU Hosts Relay for Life

The university's relay happens in two weeks, and there's still time to get involved.

Southern Connecticut State University will hold its Relay for Life on Saturday, April 20 beginning at 6 p.m. on the Jess Dow Field on Wintergreen Avenue in New Haven.

The journey to end cancer starts with a single step. The American Cancer Society invites you to take that step by joining the global Relay For Life movement. When you walk to end cancer at a Relay event, it's your opportunity to not only honor cancer survivors and remember loved ones lost, but also to raise awareness about what we can do to stay well from cancer and raise money to help fuel the world's largest walk to end cancer.

There is still time for people to start a team or join a team, volunteer, and donate for this event. There will be entertainment, prizes, and the traditional Relay for Life ceremonies.

This is an overnight event ending April 21 at 11 a.m. Teams are encouraged to bring their own food and money for additional activities and fundraisers at the event, and they also have to provide a tent for themselves.

To sign-up, volunteer, and donate they will have to go to http://www.relayforlife.org and type Southern Connecticut State University in the search bar.
