Students Benefit from Elks Generosity

The Hamden Elks Lodge No. 2224, serving Hamden and North Haven, recently presented its 2011 Lodge Scholarship awards in honor of Edward J. Connolly at the Lodge Youth Awards Banquet held during National Youth Week in May.

Five $500 Awards were presented to graduating high school seniors who are the children, grandchildren or legal wards of a current member in good standing of the Hamden Elks Lodge No. 2224.

Recipients are Michael Scott Welton of North Branford who attends North Branford High School; Celeste Sivori of Bethany who attends Chase Collegiate; Kevin Gorman of Killingworth who attends Haddam-Killingworth High School  (not shown, award accepted on his behalf at Awards Banquet by Joanne Gorman), Alexa Mychajlowskyj of North Branford who attends North Branford High; Nicole Maturo of Hamden who attends Sacred Heart Academy;also shown are Elks President Karen Forsyth and Hamden Elks Scholarship Co-Chair Neil Colwell.
