This Week In Hamden: Pension Fund, Concerts and Magicians

There's no shortage of things to do this week in town!

There's no shortage of things to do in town this week, ranging from the public hearing on the proposed hotel and development at the former Centerville Lumber to the Friday Summer Concert Series finale to a magic show at Larry's Playground.

Here's what's going on this week:

The Planning and Zoning Commission meets Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Thornton Wilder Hall, Miller Memorial Library Complex, 2901 Dixwell Ave., where they will continue the public hearing on the proposed hotel and commercial/retail development for the former Centerville Lumber site.

The Legislative Council will hold an informational session Wednesday at 7 p.m. on the possibility of the town using Pension Obligation Bonds to shore up the weakened Pension Fund. The meeting will be held in the Thornton Wilder Auditorium at the Miller Memorial Library.

Wednesday at Larry's Playground: Mr. Magic — the magic of Rich Rothstein. Be amused and amazed by Rich's magic and sense of humor. Rich has performed at many places and has been the “voice” of many events throughout the State. You will captivated by his personality!

Friday Night Concerts at Town Center Park: The Hamden Arts Commission's Summer Concert Series wraps up Frida night with Eddie Money, the American Rock guitarist/singer-songwriter who has sold more than 28 million records, His hits include Baby Hold On, Two Tickets to Paradise, Take Me Home Tonight, You've Really Got a Hold on Me andThink I'm in Love.

The Hamden Farmer's Market will again be open on Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Miller Library lower parking lot at 2901 Dixwell Ave.
