Connecticut Representing on 'American Idol'

Three residents made it through to Hollywood during the premier of the Fox TV show Wednesday night.

"We're going to Hollywood, baby!"

Those were the words of three Connecticut residents Wednesday night upon getting the coveted yellow ticket to Hollywood during the premier of American Idol Wednesday night.

Now in it's 13th season, the premier of American Idol continues Thursday, Jan. 16, at 8 p.m. on Fox. New to the show this year is Harry Connick Jr., who joins Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban as judges.

The three Connecticut residents representing on Idol are:


"This is unreal!!” Pettinato Tweeted from her account, @HayleyPettinato. "I can't express my gratitude enough for all the support I've been getting! So thankful!!”

Pettinato has co-written six original songs with triple-platinum selling producer Frankie Vinci, according to her Facebook page. She also releases music through her Youtube channel, HayleyNoelleMusic. 

Rodriguez said she wants to be the first Hispanic American Idol, according to an article by the Hartford Courant.
