12th Annual Brooksvale Fall Festival Is Saturday

The Brooksvale Fall Festival has become a way for many individuals and families in Hamden and surrounding towns to celebrate Autumn and the sheer joy of  being outdoors amongst Nature’s beauty.

What better backdrop to try your hand at Archery with the Hamden Bowmen than the beautiful colors of this 500+ acre park in Northern Hamden? Can you imagine a sweeter afternoon than one spent sampling Kelly’s Kone Konnection gourmet ice cream while sipping a Hot beverage from Sozo café?

Children look forward to playing in KidZone each year hosted by the kind folk at Frontline CC and the climbing wall, casting clinic and other activities in the wide open field entertain kids of all ages.

Many local groups participate and share their knowledge freely about topics of environmental concern such as Hamden’s Clean & Green Commission, Solid Waste and Recycling and Hamden’s Land Trust. You can also learn about Bees and Bugs with Ira Kettle, Connecticut’s Beekeeper and the Reps from the CT Agricultural Experiment Station.

In between playing, visiting the talented face-painters in the field or taking a pony ride or horse drawn hayride you can even just sit still and listen to great music in the barn or take a leisurely walk up to the Veterans’ memorial building and learn about Bats and Snakes and creepy stuff like that.

The Friends of Brooksvale Park hold their annual bake sale and sell out quickly so don’t delay a visit there and this year some of the schools and student groups will be letting you know about their fundraising efforts as well.
Any way you put it, the Brooksvale Fall Festival has something for everyone and at the least, if the weather cooperates, a beautiful afternoon in the park.

Environmental Educators and Exhibitors, Traditional Craftspeople, School & Community Organizations; Natural Arts & Crafters are encouraged to email the park and inquire about participating, there is still time
