Convening: Coming together to build a stronger community for the arts

The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven is organizing a series of Convenings to inspire learning and sharing about the many areas of interest in the Greater New Haven region. This first Convening will focus on issues and opportunities surrounding the Arts, building on our community’s vibrant creative assets and The Community Foundation’s long history of support for the arts. If the arts are important to you, and you think they are important to the vibrancy and vitality of Greater New Haven, you don't want to miss this opportunity.

·   Gather with local artists, nonprofits, patrons, educators and others to explore the benefits the arts provide to our community, and how to promote these benefits to donors, policymakers and educators.

·   Share your ideas and learn from others about arts in education, building audience, maintaining diversity of art form and genre, staying relevant and integrating the arts into the daily life of our community.

·   Receive an update on State funding for the arts.

·   Learn about successful local models of arts integration into the classroom, and arts programs that engage children and adults for life-long learning.

·   Participate in break-out discussions to share ideas and resources and make connections.

·   Discuss what sustainability looks like for arts organizations in Greater New Haven. Join forces with other interested people to identify the next steps in ensuring a bright future for the arts.
