From Mayor Scott Jackson's Office:
The Town Center Park and Arts Commission wants to remind residents and visitors of the wide variety of entertainment and events available this weekend right in the center of town.
Friday, Aug. 16 will bring the weekly Farmer's Market from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Stop by for a bite to eat from one of the prepared food vendors and pick up all your fruits and veggies for the weekend. While you're at the market, why not visit its new neighbor, our 7,000 square foot all- abilities playground, Josh's Jungle? It's a big hit with kids of all ages.
Friday night will bring a decidely European feel to the park with the presentation of “Midnight in Paris” on the big screen in front of the Rotary Pavilion. Le Petit Gourmet will be there with an al fresco bistro, DiSorbo's will be serving up Italian pastries, Giovanni's ice cream, Elm City Kettlecorn will be there for your popcorn fix and Firedog with their grilled favorites . Bring a blanket and join us for the show beginning at 8pm.
Sunday, Aug. 18 will bring Major League Baseball to the park. Put on your team colors, and join your fellow fans for the NY Yankees vs. The Boston Red Sox ESPN simulcast on the 40 foot jumbo screen starting at 8pm.
“Town Center Park is the place to be all summer long in Hamden," Jackson said. "I'm proud to offer our residents so many recreation and entertainment opportunities. It's free and fun for the entire family.”
It's all happening right here in Hamden this weekend and it's all FREE.
