Get Out!!

It's Thursday and you're thinking about what to do this weekend. Patch has some suggestions.

1. 

Where/When:  Eli Whitney Museum, Saturday, 10 a.m.- 3 p.m.; Sunday, noon – 5 p.m.

Why Go: The Museum preserves the site on which Eli Whitney constructed the first American factory in 1798.  A variety of exhibits for adults and workshops for kids.

Price: Fees for children’s workshops vary; donations for the museum are appreciated.

 

2. 

Where/When: The Space and The Outer Space, Friday and Saturday, 7 p.m.

Why Go: Live and usually local bands at both venues.

Price: usually $10.

 

3.

Where/When:  West Rock Ridge State Park, Saturday, 9 a.m.

Why Go: Learn about and observe the Common Raven and the Peregrine Falcon.

Price: Free.

 

4.

Where/When: Yale Repertory Theatre, Friday, Saturday, Sunday 8 p.m.; Saturday, 2 p.m.

Why Go: It's Romeo and Juliet.

Price: $30-$70.

 

5.

Where/When: Wooster Square, New Haven, Saturday, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Why Go: Local farmers and merchants sell their wares.

Price: Free admission.

But Kudos to the teachers who put their students above their own financial situation. The Town and parents should be footing the costs, not the teachers.
