Lake Compounce in Bristol Opens for the Season on Sunday

Opening day for Lake Compounce theme park is Sunday, May 12 and guests are invited to take advantage of “buy one, get one free” regular admission tickets for May 12th, 18th or 19th, when purchased online at www.LakeCompounce.com.  

The oldest continuously operating amusement park in the country, Lake Compounce is celebrating its 169th year with an all new wave pool, exclusive party patio; more season pass holder perks two new dining options including Johnny Rockets. In addition, moms will be treated to a little extra pampering on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12th.

Special events are being planned for many weekends throughout the summer, such as Mother’s Day and Father’s Day celebrations, Independence Day Fireworks on July 5and you might even see Santa and Mrs. Clause making an appearance before the summer season ends.

New season pass holder perks include “choose your own bring-a-buddy days”, where season pass holders may bring one buddy with them for free on any Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday of their choice, on three separate occasions. There will also be “bring-a-buddy for less” days, where buddies receive discounted admission.On the evening of June 7th, season pass holders will enjoy a private Luau in Crocodile Cove Water Park. Fresh on the food scene is the brand new Johnny Rockets Express in Crocodile Cove Water Park, bringing all-American hamburgers, hand-dipped shakes and fries to the Lake.

In addition, down home, authentic barbeque will be close by at the new Pig House BBQ and gourmet burgers will be served in the Carousel Café.

Crocodile Cove Water Park will open on Saturday, May 25. Bayou Bay is the brand new wave action pool and is more than double the size of the original wave pool. Bayou Bay will also feature a giant fiberglass statue of the Lake’s new mascot, Kyle the Crocodile.

In addition, the area will receive a second, state of the art bathhouse with more restrooms and changing areas.

The new Lakeside Party Patio, also located in Crocodile Cove, has been added, overlooking the lake and can accommodate up to 15 guests for private parties.

The party includes use of the patio, food and bottled beverages. In addition, a party concierge will be available to the group to help ensure the event runs smoothly.

Reservations must be made online in advance, for a two hour period, between noon and 7 p.m., from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

 “This year, not only are we continuing to increase the attractions and the capacity in our water park, we are adding more special events throughout the season, as well as even more perks for our season pass holders,” said general manager Jerry Brick. “Guests have been looking for birthday party packages and with adding the new Party Patio we now can accommodate pretty much any size group."
