Residents have chosen the winners of the movies that will be featured this summer at the Friday night outdoor movie series in Town Center Park
After a month of competitive voting, the public has selected their five favorites for the series, sponsored by the Town of Hamden, Town Center Park Commission and Department of Arts, Recreation and Culture. All events have an 8 p.m. show time.
Here is the August schedule:
- Friday, Aug. 2: Musical Night: The Sound of Music
- Friday, Aug. 9: Academy Award Nominee Night: Lincoln
- Friday, Aug. 16: Set In Europe Night: Midnight in Paris
- Sunday, Aug. 18: Sunday Night Baseball: New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox, presented by ESPN and Comcast
- Friday, Aug. 23: Movies That Inspired A Sequel Night: Back to the Future
- Friday, Aug. 30: Pixar Family Night: Brave
Town Center Park Chairman Matthew Fitch noted the town will feature the ESPN Sunday Night Baseball broadcast on Aug. 18 featuring the New York Yankees at the Boston Red Sox, live from Fenway Park.
“Major League Baseball has again been very supportive of the idea and we hope to have final approval shortly,” he said.
