The Hamden Arts Commission will present Roland Chirico, known as The Trumpet Man, in a special program, "The Trumpet in Your Life" on Sunday, April 22 at 2 p.m. in the handicapped-accessible Thornton Wilder Hall, Miller Cultural Complex, 2901 Dixwell Ave.
Chirico is a gifted trumpet player who toured with Judy Garland; accompanied Tony Bennett and Aretha Franklin at the Inaugural Balls of President Clinton, and performed with such luminaries as Paul Anka, Perry Como and Liberace. His program will range from semi-classical to military and popular big band music, with an emphasis on popular, and will include vocals, audience participation and sing-alongs. Chirico will share stories of his past musical adventures.
Admission is $7 general admission/ $5 for senior citizens, students and children 12 and under. Tickets are sold at the door only.
