With less than four weeks to go, tickets are selling quickly for the Channel 3 Kids Camp 4th Annual Women Raising Awareness Philanthropically (WRAP) Luncheon. Don’t miss 2012 Keynote Speaker Dr. William Petit Jr., founder of the Petit Family Foundation on Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Hartford Marriott Downtown Grand Ballroom.

Each year men and women attend the event to celebrate the work of a woman who has made a significant impact on their community through philanthropy and volunteerism while raising money for year-round programs at the Channel 3 Kids Camp.  The 2012 event will honor Magi Bish who lost her daughter to abduction 12 years ago. Out of that loss she created the Molly Bish Foundation, dedicated to providing safety education, awareness and prevention of missing and exploited children.

Emceed by WFSB TV Channel 3 Traffic Reporter, Olessa Stepanova, the luncheon offers guests an afternoon of positive networking, inspiration and fun. The doors will open at 11:00am with a silent auction, cash bar, and shopping opportunities featuring a wide range of regional products and services.

The formal program will begin at 12:15 with a delicious spring inspired lunch.  The luncheon message recognizes life’s unpredicted heartaches while sharing stories of triumph that inspire the healing of the human spirit. Our luncheon speakers have made remarkable efforts and are true community role models. The program will conclude promptly at 1:15 to allow additional time for networking and shopping.

The WRAP Luncheon sponsors for 2012 include: Hoffman Audi of East Hartford and New London, Mintz & Hoke Communication Group, CBS-Xerox, Connecticut Health Foundation, WFSB TV Channel 3, Law Firm of Trantolo & Trantolo, and Pizza Post of Oxford and Southbridge MA.

Tickets are $75 per person.  The event has grown steadily each year and tickets are expected to sell out quickly.  Organizers suggest purchasing tickets soon by visiting www.channel3kidscamp.org/wrap.  Questions about sponsorship or table captains can be directed to c.lamarre@channel3kidscamp.org or call 868-742-2267. The Marriott Hartford Downtown is located at 200 Columbus Blvd in Hartford, CT.

Check out the CVS parking lot when the High School lets out. I've seen "Daddy" picking upRead More little "Johnny" in a Town owned car. We know it was tax money paying for the gas, just hope it was lunch time. I thought the Town was cracking down on inappropriate use of vehicles. I hope not many have use of a car on Sunday, and sure hope they were on Town duty. Yes, Angela, sadly you are right, nothing will change, but there is always a chance maybe someone will listen.

CORRUPTION- IS MORE LIKE IT. GRAFT, UNLESS YOU CHANGE YOUR VOTING HABITS - AS ENSTEIN SAID- DOINGRead More THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AND EXPECTING A DIFFERENT RESULT IS INSANITY. THAT IS THE VOTING HERE IN HAMDEN- INSANE THAT PEOPLE CONTINUE TO VOTE DEMOCRATIC AND EXPECT THINGS TO CHANGE. If you notice all cities with the democratic party in charge in the U.S. has the same problems. Start with New Haven, Hamden, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, New Orleans, they all have the same problems. Welfare, union legacy costs, taxation, North Haven seems to be run better, must check that out. Don't know if that is a democrat or not.

Beth there is so much abuse in this town it is ridiculous. How about getting stopped for seat beltRead More violations when most of the police do not wear them, or when they use cell phones instead of hands free devices. Could go on and on but who cares it will change NOTHING.
