Hamden Dentist is a 'Wise Woman'

The Connecticut Region of the National Organization of Italian American Women has named Hamden dentist Jeralyn Fantarella as one of three 'Wise Women' who will be honored next month.

A Hamden woman is among three who will be honored next money at the Connecticut Region of the National Organization of Italian American Women's fifth annual Epiphany Celebration. 

Each year the organization honors Three Wise Women who have excelled in their chosen fields and have made a positive contribution to their communities over a period of time.    

Among those chosen this year is Jeralyn Fantarella, D.M.D, a dentist in private practice at Jeralyn Fantarella, D.M.D., P.C, a general and family dentistry practice in Hamden.

Recognized in the New Haven Advocate’s “Best Of” readers polls, she focuses on preventative, restorative, cosmetic and implant dental care for more than 20 years. 

She received a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University and is a member of the New Haven Dental Society, American Dental Society, CT State Dental Society, serving as a state representative for that board and participates in UCONN School of Dental Medicine Mentoring Program.

The event takes place on Sunday, Jan. 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the New Haven Lawn Club.

In addition to Fantarella, U.S. Congresswoman Rosa. L. DeLauro will present the awards to Mary J. Barneby, the Chief Executive Officer of Girl Scouts of Connecticut, and Carol Heinsthe owner and chief image consultant of Carol’s Creations, unique women’s clothing and accessories boutiques in North Haven and Guilford.

Tickets for the Epiphany Celebration start at $60 and proceeds help to support NOIAW programs such as the Mentor Program which pairs young Italian American women with established professionals; the Scholarship Program which provides financial assistance to students so that they may realize their dreams; and the Cultural Exchange Program which sends young Italian American women on educational group trips to Italy.
