That's what Hamden Patch reader Marty wrote about , this week's Reader's Choice winner for Best Package Store in Hamden.
"The crew at Amity Wine & Sprits is AWESOME!" reader GerryGag agrees. "They are always so helpful and friendly, with great advice and suggestions. And if you're looking for something hard to find or something not on their shelves, they will special order for you!"
The store at 3300 Whitney Ave., at the corner of Sherman Avenue, is large and has large selections of both beer and wine, as well as liquors.
"Just can't beat the variety and the prices at Amity Wine and Spirits," wrote Hamden Patch reader Beth. "The store is big enough so you're not scrunched in looking for stuff and it's easy to find what you're looking for. Just a good place to go for alcohol."
Amity Wine and Spirits took the early lead and held it, finishing with 40 of 54 votes cast.
The next closest competitor was Cherry Hill Spirits, with seven votes.
