QVHD - TIPS Family Health Letter

Do you want to learn more about caring for the health of your family?

Did you know Tylenol can affect your liver if it is used incorrectly? Is your home a "Healthy Home?" Do you feel confident about when to call the doctor if your child is sick? Do you know how to remove a tick?

You can find information about these topics (and many more) in the Qvhd-Tips Family Health Letter. It is only available on line at www.qvhd.org (Path: Community Health, Publications, Qvhd-Tips Family Health Letter.)

Quinnipiack Valley Health District is the local public health department for the towns of Bethany, Hamden, North Haven and Woodbridge. We work with you, the public, to protect the health of residents, to prevent injury and disease and to promote health in the community.

There is a lot of information on the QVHD website that may be of interest to you and your family. Topics range from personal health issues to environmental regulatory issues. Checking our website and contacting this office may be a critical step before deciding on an action like buying a home or building an addition or adding a swimming pool.

The health district has files on many (not all) homes within the district. Looking at this file may help you to assess the condition of a septic system of a house. Additions and pools must meet certain conditions before they can be constructed. If you are looking at a property with the idea that you want to add a pool or add a bedroom, you should consult with this office before you purchase a property if you have your heart set on the upgrades. Sometimes the environmental regulations do not allow you to do what you have in mind.

You can call the health district for more information, 203 248-4528.

while receiving Staples Rewards does help defray the cost of supplies for the teachers, they areRead More STILL putting cash out of their own pockets! This should not be. But Kudos to the teachers who put their students above their own financial situation. The Town and parents should be footing the costs, not the teachers.
