As 2011 recedes into the annels of history, it's time to look back and see what captured reader's attention most throughout the year.
It was the first full year of Hamden Patch's existance, and during that time we covered everything from budget woes to a stabbed pit bull.

Stories about pets took four of the top 20 spots, while Hurricane Irene also finished with several articles on the list. Crime stories also proved popular, as did the 2011 municipal election.
Ironically the most read story of the year had little to do with Hamden, but instead reviewed one of the year's cinematic releases. But there were plenty of Hamden stories that struck a chord with readers too.
