Freezing Rain Advisory Early Monday

To add insult to injury, there's a freezing rain advisory in effect from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. Monday morning, which will make conditions more dangerous.

 

There is a freezing rain advisory in effect for much of Southern Connecticut from the hours of 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

The freezing rain could be mixed with snow and sleet at times, according to the NWS, and temperatures will be in the upper 20s to lower 30s.

This "will make travel hazardous late tonight through Monday morning," according to the advisory. "Untreated roads will become slick and icy. Conditions should improve late Monday morning as temperatures rise and the wintry mix changes to rain." 

Hamden schools have already been cancelled for Monday, as have many colleges and universities.

Later in the day Monday the high is expect to get to 42. There's another chance of rain Monday night, and Tuesday is expected to be sunny with a high of 44.
