The first alternate juror was chosen today for the trial of Joshua Komisarjevsky, the second Cheshire home invasion defendant.
A source knowledgeable about the Komisarjevsky jury selection in New Haven Superior Court said the male juror is a 32-year-old teacher from Hamden.
Both the prosecution and defense used peremptory challenges during today’s jury selection session. That would bring the total number of challenges used by the defense to 31 and by the prosecutors to 26.
Each side gets a maximum of 40 peremptory challenges they can use to excuse jurors without stating a reason.
