Life Begins to Return to Normal After Sandy

Kids return to school today and the number of homes without power continues to drop.

The cleanup from Hurricane Sandy continued for a third day Thursday as students enjoyed their fourth day off from school and several thousand residents suffered through another day without power.

But today the students return to school and the number of homes without power is down to just over 2,100, many in the West Woods and Spring Glen areas.

Leng also said that Mayor Scott Jackson and Fire Chief Beradesca are offering Hamden Fire Stations as warming and charging centers effective immediately.

Additional locations, including the Keefe Community Center and Hamden Libraries will be added today, he said.
