The storm has led to roads becoming impassable due to trees and utility lines down.

The following roads are closed due to storm issues, including down trees and/or down power lines. This is the first round of closed roads from Hurricane Sandy. 

Road Closing Reports:

(These reports will be updated on a regular basis. We are in continual communication with the Hamden Police Department for these reports.)

  • Battis Road (Area of #225) – Tree in roadway. 
  • Highland Avenue (Area of #113) – Tree in roadway. 
  • 135 Putnam Avenue – Trees and Wires down. 
  • 56 Lent Road – Tree in roadway
  • Grandview Avenue

  • Battis St. /Arents 
  • Circular at Battis taped off--tree down at Gilbert and Circular

But Kudos to the teachers who put their students above their own financial situation. The Town and parents should be footing the costs, not the teachers.
