Tech HS Students Pamper Eight Foster Mothers

Meriden foster moms get their hair and nails done, plus a culinary treat for lunch.

Students at Eli Whitney Technical High School, which benefited from a $40,000 donation from the owner of an office supply business last year, pampered some foster mothers with free nails and hairdressing care Thursday.

An article in the New Haven Register said eight foster mothers took some hours off from parenting for a day of pampering from the school’s hairdressing and cosmetology students, arranged through the Connecticut Association of Foster and Adoptive Parents and the state Department of Children and Families.

The eight mothers, all from Meriden, also got free lunch prepared by the culinary arts students at the state vocational high school.
