Attorney Edward C. "Ned" Burt, Jr. Democrat for Probate Court Judge

Attorney Edward C. "Ned" Burt, Jr. states case for him being the next Probate Court Judge for the Hamden-Bethany Probate Court District.

The communities of Hamden and Bethany have been well served for over thirty years each by Judge Guy Yale and Judge Salvatore Diglio.  The State has consolidated these two towns into the Hamden-Bethany Probate Court District.  Both Judge Yale and Judge Diglio will be retired by the end of next year.

It would be my honor as a life-long Hamden resident to follow in their footsteps as the Probate Court Judge.

Probate Court is essentially a Family Court.  It deals with family issues at their most sensitive time.  Whether a family has lost a loved one, is dealing with an elderly relative who needs help in handling personal and/or financial affairs, or is dealing with an issue involving a child, the Probate Court Judge makes decisions that can have a significant and lasting impact on a family and those within it.

My over thirty years of legal experience in handling all types of Probate work will help me in serving as the Probate Court Judge.  I have also served as a Superior Court appointed arbitrator for years making decisions on cases involving sensitive areas of the law. This experience in hearing cases and making decisions will help me in dealing with the difficult decisions a Probate Court Judge must make in deciding family issues.

I feel that it is important for the Probate Court Judge to be compassionate, to act in a fair manner, and to possess a high degree of integrity.

This is how Judge Yale and Judge Diglio ran their Courts.  They treated everyone with dignity and respect no matter what decision they made in various cases.  I have run my law practice in the same manner. I most certainly pledge to run the Probate Court in the same manner if I am fortunate enough to receive your support and vote.

I love the town of Hamden.  It is where I have been born and raised and where I have raised our children along with my wife, Attorney Chris Burt.  I can't think of a better way to serve my community than to serve it as the Probate Court Judge.

Bethany is a town I am embracing.  I have spent time in Bethany getting to know its' people.  I have enjoyed my time there and look forward to representing the fine people of Bethany as well as my hometown folks of Hamden.

I would be honored to follow in the footsteps of Judge Yale and Judge Diglio.  I would be honored to receive your support and your vote.  And I would be honored to serve as your next Probate Court Judge.

Please vote for me on Tuesday, November 6th, 2012.

Thank you.

Edward C. "Ned" Burt, Jr.
