Legislative Council Fourth District: Republican Matt Corcoran

Candidates for office were offered the opportunity to submit a profile about themselves and why residents should vote for them. Republican Matt Corcoran is running for the Legislative Council from the Fourth District.

My name is Matt Corcoran and I am a proud resident of Hamden’s Fourth District, which runs generally from Spring Glen west of Whitney Avenue north along Whitney Avenue to Route 40.  I am humbly asking you for the opportunity to serve as your Town Council representative.

I believe strongly that the best days of Hamden are ahead of us.  The times ahead of us pose challenges and opportunities and wise decisions must be made to protect our quality of life.

I pledge to focus on issues of concern to Hamden’s Fourth District such as blight enforcement, traffic calming, responsible planning and zoning and ensuring a quality education for the children of Hamden.

I believe that my background and experiences will equip me to take on these challenges.  I run a small general practice law firm here in Hamden and represent individuals and small business owners throughout Hamden.

I have been fortunate enough to serve as an appointed commissioner on Hamden’s Reapportionment Commission and Hamden’s Energy Use and Climate Change Commission and maintain an interest in energy efficiency measures and their implementation which I believe can save the Town money.  I am currently privileged to serve as a commissioner on the Town Center Park Commission which is charged with organizing events at Town Center Park.

Please remember to vote on Nov. 5 and I hope that you are willing to support me as a town council candidate in the Fourth District.
