Legislative Council Ninth District: Democrat Paul Begemann

Candidates for office were offered the opportunity to submit a profile about themselves and why residents should vote for them. Democrat Paul Begemann is running for the Legislative Council from the Ninth District.

I chose to run for the Legislative Council because I care about Hamden and want to help make it the best community it can be.

I am a Hamden native. I attended Hamden schools, graduating from Hamden High in 1980. I subsequently graduated from The University of Connecticut and George Washington University Law School. I am a practicing attorney with my office in Hamden.

I am a parent, raising three children in Hamden, all of whom now attend Hamden High.  I have been involved in various community organizations and activities, including the Hamden Chamber of Commerce, the West Woods Neighborhood Association and the Friends of Brooksvale Park. I am Vice President and Chair of the Acquisition Committee of the Hamden Land Conservation Trust.

My priorities for the 9th District include supporting our public school system, strengthening our neighborhoods, stabilizing Hamden’s finances, protecting our open space and improving our parks, and working to limit the encroachment of Quinnipiac University into our residential neighborhoods.

I will provide a knowledgeable, informed and effective voice for the 9th District on the Legislative Council.  For more information on me and my positions, visit www.paulforthe9th.com or my Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/paulforthe9th.
