Mayor: Republican Bob Anthony

Candidates for office were offered the opportunity to submit a profile about themselves and why residents should vote for them. Bob Anthony is the Republican candidate for Mayor.

Robert P. Anthony, is a lifelong Hamden resident and the eldest of eight children.

Bob received a B.A. degree in Sociology from John F. Kennedy College in 1972. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1972-1974, stationed in Korea. Upon return, he studied at Southern Connecticut State College, pursuing an interest in political science.

Bob has served his community in a variety of capacities until he became a Hamden Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician for over 20 years. He was elected the Hamden Fire Local 2687 President in (1992); he served on the Hamden Employees Retirement Board from 1980 thru 2000; was elected in 2011 to the Uniformed Professional Firefighter’s Association of Connecticut as Treasurer.

Bob has served as the Republican Head Moderator for over 20 years, was a member of the Hamden Republican Town Committee and a former Trustee for the fraternal order of Eagles. He is presently a member of the American Legion. 

Bob has always showed an interest in the Town of Hamden and is honored to be a candidate for Mayor of Hamden. He deeply cares about the fiscal future of the town. 

Amongst many important issue, Bob is committed to are Education Excellence, Crime Issues, Economic Development and listening to the voices of the residents.

Bob Anthony’s Sensible Government Platform will work to restore a financially sound Hamden. As Mayor, Bob pledges to promote cost containment programs to benefit all citizens of Hamden.
