There is so much going on in August, it gets overwhelming! In a good way though.
I brought peaches to Kelly of Kelly's Kone Konnection, and she made the best Peach Ice Cream for us. It is so smooth and peachy! It is great to work with other local restaurants and stores.
Another local restaurant is doing a Dinner at the Farm. Eli's is back for the third year with another exciting event on the farm. The dinner is on Sept. 15th from 6-10 p.m. There is an open bar, D.J., lots of fabulous food made with Hindinger Veggies, and other local vendors and a whole lot more.
It was a great night under the stars last year, everyone had a good time. Eli's pays a lot of attention to every detail! The cost per person is $90, and you can get tickets at Eli's or the Farm.
We are picking so much fruit and veggies now. We started with Gingergold and PaulaRed Apples, Peaches, Tomatoes, Cluster Tomatoes, Corn, Eggplant, Squash, Beans and more! It is hard to keep up.
The heat has made everything come fast and early, more things to pick at once. I am picking Sunflowers now, there are so many! They look like smiling faces all lined up in the field.
This is the time of year for canning and freezing. My husband is canning peaches this weekend, and last weekend he did the Plum Tomatoes. We eat very well in the winter. We had to buy another freezer to fit everything in!
Hope to see everyone soon.
