We are so busy at the Farm now! It is hard to believe that we are picking Peaches, Corn, Squash, Green Beans , Cut flowers and everything else so early. It is an awesome treat!
Last year it seemed like we had to wait forever for everything to come out. George checked the Methley Plums yesterday, and they are ready. We picked this morning, and I ate one right away! They are like sugar, very red inside.
The peaches are also especially sweet this year. I don't know what to eat first, between the corn, beets, squash and fruit. It certainly makes choosing a dinnertime menu easy. Forget the meat! We are getting native Blueberries in as well.
George and Denise went to PA yesterday to pick up plants for the fall. (Broccoli, Cauliflower, Cabbage). They will start planting today. George brought me back my Whoopie pies, they are the best from PA.
Mom and I are busy with the stand, and now that school is out we are even busier. Our CSA boxes are going well, we are into our 4th week, plenty of produce for people to pick up.
The Fair Haven Farmers Market starts this week, Thursday from 2:30-6:30, on Front Street. Tony and Debora will be there selling our produce. The weather has been warm, now we are looking for some rain. Hopefully some will come soon. Hope to see everyone soon.
