Apple Trees are already pruned, and we are moving on to peaches.
Hi everyone. Things are moving along here at . George and I finished pruning our Apple trees, and will soon move on to our Peach trees.
George is trying to fix our Air Compressor, so we can get to it! We use an air compressor with “guns” that cut the peach limbs. It is loud; you can hardly hear yourself think. We are hoping it stays on the cooler side. We do not want the fruit trees to bloom too early, you run the risk of fruit buds freezing later on with temperature flucuations.
We are catching up on all our projects. I have been trying a lot of new recipes. Smittenkitchen.com is a great resource for fruit and veggie recipes. I recently tried a Strawberry Cake and Strawberry Dumplings from that site and both were delicious. Of course I have Hindinger Strawberries in the freezer to use in my recipes.

Our CSA is growing, we have about 140 members so far, and still have openings. We decided to do just one Farmers Market in New Haven for City Seed, so we can focus on our CSA more. We do weekly e-mails and recipes for our CSA members, and we will be offering our CSA members a 10 percent discount this year when they shop at the farmstand.
Pastor George Manukas from Dunbar United Church of Christ will continue the tradition of the Easter Sunrise Service at Hindinger Farm. We hope for a beautiful sunrise this year, last year the sun did not show itself! It will be good luck to the farm if it does this year, a sign of things to come! More sunshine! See you soon.
