Hi everyone. The opening day of our Farm Market is coming soon. We will open May 8th. I hope the weather cooperates better than this weekend, too chilly!
Asparagus from our farm will be available, and loads of other fruits and veggies. I have some great new recipes for the Asparagus. There will be a great selection of plants, including Hanging Baskets, Annuals and Perennials. The stand is fully stocked with Gift Items, Preserves, Salsa, Cheese, Eggs, and more. There are a lot of great ideas to give Mom for Mothers Day!
I can not believe we are expected to get a Frost in the next couple of nights. George set up irrigation to protect our strawberries. When you water them during the frosty temps, it saves them from dying. Our corn, beans and peas are up, so we have to hope for the best. If not, we just replant. George plants a new field of corn and beans about every 1 1/2-2 weeks, so we have plenty all summer and into the fall. I knew we could not get away with some colder weather this year.
It was great to see everyone at the Chamber of Commerce Expo. It is always a great time. This year we were next to the dogs up for adoption. It is a miracle I did not take one home. They were adorable! I hope to see everyone soon.
