Hindinger's Farm Strawberry Festival Saturday

Strawberry Festival June 16th. Loads of Family Fun!

It is that time of year again, the Strawberries are here, and the Festival is coming up on June 16th. (Rain Date June 17th). The time is 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.

I have been so busy getting ready! I talked to Robby and Kelly from Glenwood, and Kelly's Cone Connection and they are all set to go. I gave Kelly strawberries last week and she is making our Ice Cream, and Robby is psyched to be cooking his famous Hot Dogs and Hamburgers.

Nancy and Melanie will be doing Face painting from 12-4, and we rented a Baseball Toss and a Basketball Toss. Something new this year! Hamden Happy Tails Foundation will be having an adoption Event at the Festival. Should be interesting! Get some Strawberry Shortcake and bring home a Puppy! George will be doing tractor rides through the farm as well.

The Farm work is going well. The guys just picked a whole bunch of shelling peas and snap peas. They are delicious. I made Pasta and Peas the other night, and it was great.

Jerry, my Mom and I froze 2 flats of strawberries last night, I was so tired, I just had Strawberry Shortcake for dinner. (It was a really good dinner).  When I freeze strawberries, I just take the top off and cut in half, and put in freezer bags. They are great to make cooked sauces with and baking. That is what I use when I experiment with recipes in the winter.

George is busy planting in between the raindrops. So far he is more on schedule than last year. It rained even more last year and it was tough to get in to plant.

Hope to see you soon.

while receiving Staples Rewards does help defray the cost of supplies for the teachers, they areRead More STILL putting cash out of their own pockets! This should not be. But Kudos to the teachers who put their students above their own financial situation. The Town and parents should be footing the costs, not the teachers.
