Jazz at Grace & St. Peter’s
Grace & St. Peter’s Episcopal Church continues its jazz concert series on Saturday, March 9, 2013 with Bassology, a blues-drenched swinging jazz group led by David Chevan on bass and featuring Will Bartlett on sax and clarinet, Ron Braggs on drums and vocals, and Nick Weiser on Piano. “Bassology is jazz you can dance to and jazz that is romantic,” explains bassist David Chevan. “We’re playing tunes from straight-ahead swinging jazz to the funky grooves of New Orleans, to pretty much any beat that makes me smile.” The band’s repertoire mixes jazz infused arrangements of tunes by such artists as The Meters, Mongo Santamaria, and George Harrison in with Ron Bragg’s smoky readings of classic jazz standards. The group features the soulful singing of drummer Ron Braggs along with Will Bartlett on sax. All are welcome to come and enjoy an evening of music in a beautiful space.
