Coins to Benefit Hamden Scholarships

Connex Credit Union kicks off first quarter “Coins for Change” program benefiting local community organizations for 2014.

Connex Credit Union will donate all fees collected from their Hamden branch coin counting machine from January 1 through March 31 to the Hamden Regional Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund.

The coin counting machine charges 5 percent to Connex members and 7 percent to non- members. Every quarter Connex chooses different local organizations for each of their four coin counting machines located in Guilford, Hamden, North Haven and Wallingford.

The Hamden Regional Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization composed of members from the business community who are concerned with the importance of maintaining a positive economic climate in the Hamden area and beyond. Their annual scholarship fund provides scholarships to area students pursuing a college degree.

If you are a local non-profit or charitable organization interested in participating in the “Coins for Change” program, please contact Chris Whalen at Connex Credit Union, at 203-603-5787 or cwhalen@connexcu.org.
