Hamden Helps House of Heroes

The Connecticut Chapter of House of Heroes is an organization dedicated to helping repair the homes of veterans and needs help in raising money for their efforts.

The Connecticut Chapter of House of Heroes is planning its third annual Heroes Event for Friday, May 23.

House of Heroes is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free home repairs to military and public service veterans who cannot afford the repairs and/or are not physically capable of undertaking the repair work. The Third Annual Heroes Event on Friday, May 23 at DeMil’s on Whitney, 4137 Whitney Ave., Hamden starting at 4 p.m.

Since its inception in 2012, House of Heroes Connecticut Chapter has honored nearly 30 veterans with more than $250,000 in home improvement impact. Now, over the week proceeding Memorial Day, House of Heroes will be improving the homes of five veterans in its quest to expand operations in Connecticut. This fundraiser continues the organization’s tradition of making every Memorial Day one to remember.

DeMil’s on Whitney will donate a portion of the food and beverage proceeds to House of Heroes. Local bands Wing It! and The Giant Roots will entertain throughout the evening. Further information on fundraisers and upcoming events can be found on the House of Heroes website, www.HOHCT.org.

“House of Heroes Connecticut Chapter is off to a great start, and as we enter our third year, we’re poised for major expansion.
