Help Send a Hamden Kid to Camp this Summer

With the economy continuing to struggle, Hamden Community Services needs your help to give lower income Hamden children the chance to experience summer camp this year.

The Hamden Community Services Department is seeking donations from
area businesses and individuals to help subsidize the cost of sending Hamden kids to camp this summer.

While many Hamden children spend the summer enjoying family time on
vacation, others are forced to spend that time at home in front of the television or playing unsupervised on the streets of Hamden.

Last year the average cost to send one child to Hamden’s Green Dragon Camp for the summer was $1000.00. Hamden Community Services serves low income families who simply cannot afford to send even one child to camp. For families with two or more children, summer camp is an unobtainable goal.

The poor economy has lead to an increased demand for camp. Residents and businesses can help in this effort to provide a safe, structured camp
experience for Hamden children who are most in need by sending a donation in any amount to:
