ShopRite Raises Funds for Fisher House CT

From Fisher House CT:

Fisher House CT extends a well-deserved “Thank you” to all the ShopRite employees and especially their fearless leader, Harry Garafola, for raising a remarkable $60,221 in June.

For the third year in a row, ShopRite employees at all four Garafola owned stores, including the Hamden ShopRite in the Hamden Plaza, competed to help raise funds for the building of a 16,000 square foot Fisher House next to the VA Hospital in West Haven.

Families of veterans who are being treated for injuries, disease or illness will be able to stay free of charge while their loved one recuperates.  In the last three years, ShopRite has raised almost $150,000.

Tom Flowers, Fisher House volunteer and liason with ShopRite said that to show its appreciation for the efforts, ShopRite will host a Thank You Picnic Aug. 3 for the volunteers and ShopRite employees involved.

"When you put your mind to it and are passionate about a goal, great things can happen,” Flowers said.
