7 DIY Halloween Decorations

Want to make your own Halloween decorations? These are easy to create!

Every Halloween, there's some super crafty person who makes epic stuff and if you're not crafty like me, your face turns Frankenstein-green with envy.

Us non-crafty folks got to stick together. I perused Pinterest until I found seven Halloween decorations that are easy to make and look great.

1.) How to Make a Tree Monster

If you still have beach balls somewhere around the house, find them and paint them to look like eyeballs. Then put them in a tree and voila! Instant tree monster

2.) Paint a Pumpkin

With a nature-made foundation already in place, it's really hard to mess up these decorations. Use spray paint to make your pumpkins look like candy corn

3.) Bat-o-Lanterns

I'm not sure I've seen a craft that's cuter than bat-o-lanterns made out of mini pumpkins. This is so easy to do!

Get mini pumpkins and paint them black. Then use the templates from the above link to make wings and eyes or just free form 'em! They use craft foam — I don't even know what that is. So you can use that, or I assume construction paper will also do the trick.

4. Don't Forget About the Bathroom

There's this really horrible sticker I thought about getting for the bathroom, that shows realistic looking spiders floating in the bowl. If you're afraid of spiders, do not click on that link.

If you're not afraid and you did click, I know — it's awful and will probably make me jump every time I see because I'll forget that I put it there.

So let's not do that, right? Instead, I want to do this — make an adorable monster for the bathroom. It's simple! Cut black construction paper on an angle, cut out some fingers with the same paper and paint on the eyes.

5.) Make Your Own Window Silhouettes

OK I confess that these intimidate me a little, so I'd probably try to snag one of my crafty friends to assist in the process of making Halloween silhouettes for the windows.

6.) Milk Jug Ghosts

Start saving your milk jugs, boys and ghouls. All you need to make these milk jug ghosts are the bottles of milk, a black marker and glow sticks. The instructions called for a string of lights to be placed in the milk jugs but I think glow sticks are an easier alternative!

Use the ghosts to line your walkway on Halloween night!

7. Since We're Repurposing...

You're already saving milk jugs, right? So while you're at it, save your toilet paper rolls too, for these DIY eyes spying out of the bushes. Cut different eye shapes out of the toilet paper rolls, place a glow stick in them and put them in bushes around your yard.

Have a wonderfully crafty Halloween and if you do tackle these creepy creations, share your photos here!
