Hamden Hall Students Raise Money for Breast Cancer Screenings

Hamden Hall Country Day School students teamed up recently to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation during their second annual Pink Out Day.

Hamden Hall Country Day School juniors and sophomores teamed up recently to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation during their second annual Pink Out Day.

The two classes raised nearly $1,000 after students dressed in pink during the school day to support the cause and later attended a dance.  This is the second year Hamden Hall students have raised money for the foundation.  To date, donations total $1,900.

According to junior Claire Kramer, co-president of the Class of 2014, students researched the cost of a mammogram and learned that each one costs about $100.  “So this means that our money could possibly help 19 women learn whether or not they have cancer,” said Kramer.

The fundraiser was coordinated through the school’s student government organization.  Class of 2015 President Bianca Tomassini also helped organize the event.
