The Urban Archeologist: Grand Estate Sale This Weekend

Be the first to see inside this incredible dig.

The Urban Archeologist is written by Greg Van Antwerp.

How often do you get to see something before it is something? If you’re an urban archeologist: not often enough. Most, if not all of the sales I find are well in motion by the time I can get there. So it was with great excitement last weekend when I was able to get the first look at major estate sale coming up this weekend.

Here is the pay-off- when I get a first look at a sale, followers of my blogs (This new incantation of The Urban Archeologist as a Patch blog, and my main site Confessions of an Urban Archeologist) will get a special first look as well. Need proof? Get the first look at this amazing sale by clicking here.

After watching the video you may ask, “How did he get there first?” Owners, Fred and Maggie of “Antiques on the Green,”specialize in estate and whole home liquidation sales. They invited me in to this Bethlehem estate thanks to a mutual friend and Patch.com editor Jaimie Cura. Jaimie and I were able to dig through the home while the sale was being set up and priced.

If you want to see a real time-machine, arrive early to this sale at 58 East St in Bethlehem (May 17,18, 19 9am –3pm) and bring your flashlight and a magnifier. You will feel as though you’ve taken a walk through Connecticut in the early 20th century.

Stop by the main blog for one of my confessions, an important tip on how to choke a stork. This doesn’t sound right, but I’m sure PETA wouldn’t mind.
