Protect Yourself Naturally During the Flu Season

I am an LPN who ate my way back to health using food as my medicine. I address ways to fight illness with food. Read my story.

By Joan McDaniel

There are several natural things you can do to protect yourself from the colds and flu of this winter season besides hand washing.

One way is by getting on an airplane and taking a trip to a sun filled beach. Lying on the beach with the sun flowing over you cures just about anything, but… only in my dreams and someone else’s budget.

The following is a link to an article which explores natural steps you can take to protect you and your loved ones from being sick from the flu or a cold during this winter season’s current cold spell.  The article also mentions my hand washing and the flu vaccine opinions.  I have in the past, spent enormous time with the research into the pros and cons of the vaccine.  I do not want to take the time now for that discussion but find I do agree with Dr. Mercola’s position against the vaccine.  I also agree with Dr. Mercola in his position against hand sanitizers.  They contain 95% Ethyl Alcohol.  I looked it up – that’s the kind of Alcohol you drink.  Look at the label on the back of the product.  Of course, it will not tell you it is the same as a martini but I will.  Now this alcohol destroys 99% of everything including good bacteria and your immune system.  A recent study even indicates it may not even kill the Flu virus.

Give your immune system a chance use good old warm water and soap to wash your hands.  Better yet use good old warm water and toxin free soap made from avocado, coconut, or olive.

Following is a list of suggestions on how to protect yourself from the flu, by re-enforcing your God given and very capable natural immune system.
