Carmel & Shadow: Looking for Love & Forever Homes!

Help Carmel the cat and Shadow the kitten find homes! Read about the two up for adoption through Hamden Animal Control.

I stopped by the North Haven Animal Shelter Saturday to look in on a cat and a kitten being housed there for Hamden Animal Control--Carmel and Shadow.

Carmel is a male domestic short-haired cat about four years old.  He is about 10 lbs and is mostly white with light and dark grey stripes on his back.  He has been in the shelter a few months.

I'm posting this today to help him find a forever home.  During my visit, I found him to be a sweet feline, who was eager to receive my attentions, purred loudly, but really wanted to get out of his cage and get some exercise.

Having been at the shelter a while, he has gained a bit of weight but has a great temperament.  He let me pick him up without a fuss and was curious about his surroundings.  The folks at the shelter think he is a bit fearful of dogs and ok with most other cats.  But this could change if he found a warm and loving home and felt secure.  They are also unsure if he is spayed.  But by his friendly nature it was clear he was owned by someone at one time.

I also checked in on a newer resident Shadow an approximately 8 week old black kitten with green eyes.  Shadow was a little shy but purred and snuggled in my arms.  I hope she will find a home soon.

Connecticut residents must pay a $50.00 fee ($45.00 goes to APCP, $5.00 to the
municipality) at the time of adoption, which entitles the adopter to a
vaccination/sterilization voucher valid for sixty days. The voucher provides a
one-time sterilization fee plus two pre-surgical vaccinations coincident with
sterilization.
