Donald Arthur Arpine, 76

The Hamden resident was a U.S. Army veteran.

Donald Arthur Arpine, 76, of Hamden passed away peacefully on Sept. 29, 2012 at the Mary Wade Home.

He was born on September 25, 1936 in New Haven, loving son of the late Joseph L. Arpine and Anna Roetting Arpine. He graduated from New Haven College in 1959 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He then served in the U.S. Army in Germany as a Survey Specialist in Battery C of the 16th Artillery until his honorable discharge in 1962.

He then pursued an advanced degree in engineering at New Haven College. He was employed by Wire Machinery Corp. of America and Shuster Mettler Corp. as a designer and draftsman.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Jean Q. Arpine, his loving nieces and nephews, Mona (Louis) Criscuolo, Daria (John) Howard, William (Benelyn) Arpine, and Christopher Arpine, 3 grand-nieces, 2 grand-nephews, a great-grand niece, and a great-grand nephew. He was predeceased by his loving brother, Joseph C. Arpine.

Hamden Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Funeral services and interment will be private.
