Elvira Pascale Zarro, 84

The Hamden resident enjoyed knitting and cooking for her family, especially her grandchildren.

Elvira Pascale Zarro, 84, of Jennifer Rd., Hamden, died Nov. 14, 2012 at Montowese Rehab Center. She was the wife of the late Alphonse "Al" Zarro.

Elvira was born in New Haven, Oct. 26, 1928, the daughter of the late Thomas and Orsola Pascale and resided in Hamden the last 55 years. She enjoyed knitting and cooking for her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is the mother of James (Maryann) Zarro of Hamden, Ronald (Elaine) Zarro of Clinton and Deborah (Joe) Vermiglio of Hamden, sister of Teresa McArdle of Hamden, grandmother of James Zarro, Jr (Kate), Michael Zarro (Diana), Ronald Zarro (Carla), Colleen, Danelle, and Jeremy Zarro, Joseph and Lauren Vermiglio and great grandmother of, Kaitlyn, Kaydan and Melana. She was predeceased by a brother Thomas Pascale.

Her funeral is Saturday at 9:15 a.m. from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at Blessed Sacrament Church at 10 a.m. Interment in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
